Meeting time
Who; Yuna, Steve Rogers
What; A strategy meeting
Where; Gullwings office
When; Sometime before the baddies invade/everything goes haywire
Warnings; No
Steve walked to the Gullwings office (well more like he jogged) to find out whatever Yuna had wanted to talk about. She had been pretty vague, just something about a meeting to discuss things. Well that wasn't very helpful so they set up a day and time to meet and today was that appointed day.
He knew well enough that she was up to something, and had some sort of plan in the back of her mind but what it was he had no idea. So he'd left the apartment and wound up here at the office. Knocking on the door, he was let in and walked around the office he was somewhat familiar with, looking at the different things while he waited on Yuna's appearance.
Idly Steve wondered if it had something to do with the cemetery or the spirits she had spoken about before but had no real idea regarding the upcoming discussion. And he never did find out if she had gotten that one key either.

The explosion in the forest, the nightmares and dreams that were often accompanied with the symbolism of bears, and then there was the graveyard. She'd gotten the key and had confirmed that the shield was wavering but she couldn't release more chaos onto the city with so much going on. They were stretched too thin and she wasn't ready to risk innocent lives.
She wasn't sure what to do.
That was when Yuna had decided to contact Steve. He had become apart of the Gullwings shortly after his arrival and unlike the others in her small make-shift family, Steve was similar to her somehow. She couldn't quiet explain it but she felt better speaking to him.
Yuna was wearing her usual gunner's attire despite the October chill that's clung to the air. She didn't use the door to enter the room but jumped down from the second floor that circled the building like the balcony found in a library. Her expression was open but there was no mistaking the worried set to her features.
"Thanks for meeting me." She didn't know what Steve did when he wasn't working with the Gullwings but she hoped she hadn't interrupted him.

"Not a problem. But I got your message and I wasn't really sure what you wanted to talk about." He was silently assuming it was dealing with whatever that expression was for on her face. "Is there some sort of trouble going on?" And if there was, of course he was in. To him it was like being a part of the Avengers, where he was kind of the rogue character in it, not really part of anything but those were habits back from when he was a kid. To Steve that was a long time ago. To this place..he might not've even been born yet.
The Gullwings were Yuna's group but it wasn't in him to just go off and do nothing. He had to help and in helping maybe he'd find a way for everyone to just go home.

Yuna turned back towards Steve and her smile dropped. It wasn't that she wasn't happy to see him, she was, but there was so much going on. It was difficult for her to keep her thoughts straight.
"Three things... there are three things that I am worried about and I think they are all separate. There is the cemetery. I have the key and the shield is failing but we're already stretched thin. There is the explosion from the woods and then this... bear or I think it's a bear? I've never seen a bear before. There are monsters here but nothing like this." The dreams made it eerier than it might have been normally. More so since the last time Yuna had dreams like this, it'd been a premonition.
She had been pacing while speaking and had finally stopped to turn towards Steve. "I have people looking into it but I'm not sure what to do. I didn't want to get so involved, not like I used to be, but I can't stand by and do nothing either."
no subject
"Sometimes getting involved is the right thing to do. The people here aren't fighters, the main body would get slaughtered before the thinned out guards had much chance. So we need to get involved and help these people out or they stand no chance of surviving."
There was a soft smile and Steve nodded at her. "We can't just stand by, we going to help them." But that's what these two did, they got involved and helped and even people who had no idea who they were would at least be able to live another day or a lot longer.

This wasn't their home and that made things complicated. On Spira it was black and white, Yuna was always sure of what she wanted to do but this world was different.
She stopped pacing and sat against the back of the couch, her palms resting on either side of her hips. "I don't know what we should do first. We don't have enough information and if we aren't careful... we'll be stretched too thin too."
no subject
Steve smiled as Yuna said she couldn't stand by and do nothing. "We really can't let these people get slaughtered, they're innocents in this." Unless they uncovered someone somehow bringing the bear here.
"Not sure who to ask for intel here. You think that Captain guy might be up for giving us some answers?"

This world was so peaceful in comparison. She didn't understand how those in the city didn't have any skills they could use to keep themselves safe.
Yuna shook her head. "I don't know. I think he's trying to find out more too. I think we should patrol with the guard and try too make sure people stay inside after dark. I can try and track the creature. I have some experience with Fiends but we'd need a team." She looked up at Steve, her mismatched eyes meeting his with a fierce intensity. "Would it be selfish to ask you to stay in the city? To keep people safe if I and whoever else come with me fail?" Caelan was already gone and Yuna didn't know who else to trust.

Those eyes were looking at him pretty fiercely and that was when he really seem to notice that they were different colours. Fascinating, he'd never seen that before. But the blonde head shook. "I'm part of the Gullwings and therefore it's my duty to help you." There was a little smile to let her know this went beyond that as he uncrossed his arms and stepped the few steps to get close to her. "But we're not gonna fail. We're here to help people and that's exactly what we'll do."
no subject
She reached for his hand and gently took it in hers. "Nida and Ignis, I know are both coming with me to hunt the bear and likely others too. We won't fail and I won't be alone but we need to keep the people safe." Yuna wished that there were safe houses for the city occupants but she didn't know if that level of organization would be easy in a city like this.
After a pause she dropped his hand, feeling a little awkward about grabbing it after the fact. His hand was warm and his skin callous and strong. "Sorry. I know this is a lot."
no subject
"Whatever needs done, we'll take care of the rest."
Surprise registered in his blue eyes when she took his hand but if it comforted her, so much the better. "Then you have your own job to do, so focus on that while we get keep the people safe." It bugged him that he wouldn't be there to fight the creature that had terrorized so many, but there really was no help for it. It had to be done this way, she had her team and Steve was more than sure they'd keep her safe.
Yuna let go of his hand and again he puzzled over it but it didn't show. "You don't have anything to apologize for. We have jobs to do and we'll get them done, so nobody gets hurt."
no subject
Yuna didn't know what she'd do without him. Not just Steve but everyone in the Gullwings. They were all important to Yuna: her friends, her team. She'd never truly been alone. She had her guardian's when facing Sin and then her friends when they took down Vegnagun. Nothing that big can be done alone.
"When this is all over. We'll focus on the cemetery and the forest outside the city." One thing at a time.

Couldn't hurt.
"Back for the Lich..it's ambitious." Steve smiled. "And we'll be ready."
Want to wrap this up?
With all her friends beside her, there was nothing that she couldn't do. "Thanks Steve." Yuna grabbed a few papers from the table and gestured for Steve to take a look at them. "This is what we know about the Cemetery so far. Do you mind taking a look at it?"
