My friends I bring exciting news! I have mastered the creation of the loafed meat! And I have acquired tools known as 'cooker of rice' and 'fryer by air' and even a 'maker of bread'!

I told others I would speak to them if I acquired such things, and learned such cooking. Please, come over! I have made an abundance in my room. There are loaves of meat and of bread. There are prepared rices. I even tried this 'fryer of air' on pieces of chicken to make 'nuggets' and they are a wonder!

There are multiple kinds?

Yup, there are mm… quite a few different kinds. Sourdough, rye, and brioche, to name a few!

Oh! How do I make them?

Well, I believe you can make them with your bread maker. I recall them being in the kitchen in the last world I was. I expect it’s a matter of ingredients, so uh- you might be able to find recipes for them?

Oh dear, I don't know where to find recipes for them that are like this. The maker is... strange.

Mm… I admit I have never looked before, given I wasn’t known for being particularly skilled in the kitchen back then. I uh- suppose the Historium might have cook books of all kinds. Seems like you can find just about anything there if you look long enough.

I knew how to make this bread because the machine came with instructions.

I see, so there was a recipe with the bread maker when you got it. Perhaps there are different recipe books written for such machines? At least I recall seeing other kinds of bread made before from one.

[ He wishes he’d paid a little more attention, but he was happier to sample what people made with a bread maker than use one himself. ]

I shall have to research I think. I want to make more. I have heard of breads that are dark

Mm… Research is always a good start. I will happily keep an eye out for such recipes, then. I believe you would be thinking of something like a pumpernickel or rye, perhaps. Both are delicious.

Pumpernickel. That's a lovely name to say.

Isn’t it? It’s one of those words that has a unique ring to it, so uh- both delicious and fun to say.

Mm, now I find myself thinking about what other breads might be fun to say.

You know more breads than me, so maybe you should figure it out for me?

Maybe I’ll have to make a list, then you can try them if we ever find a recipe that works with your bread maker.

And I shall compile the list, then. Pumpernickel still goes at the top, I think.

While gifts are never necessary, mm… I certainly never say no to gifts in the form of bread.

Is bread a good gift?

In my opinion? It’s an excellent gift.
