I. Business Gotta Business | Open
Valentine's, but it wasn't really that. still, Tommy had seen this shit before, and honestly, he'd made some spare bucks at this time of the year, going abroad to get certain gifts for people who wanted to impress their partners.

Here at least he had better reasons to do it. The city was full of the joy and gifts and everything else. And Tommy? He had a fleet of messenger girls and boys to help provide for. So their little stall in the market got a minor remodeling with samples of different business's work. Some cloth flowers from that former King's booth, which Tommy had a sign with that explained where to find that stall. There some nice candles with directions to the chandler's shop for those and nice soaps. And of course there was a box of chocolates. or what had been a box of chocolates because Tommy did nothing to stop his courier kids from taking food from the stall if it wasn't a delivery bound to happen. That one had a sign that said 'chocolates so good they didn't last' and directed to the chocolateer's.

"Deliveries," Tommy called out, sounding more bored than anything. "Wanna send something to a secret admirer? We'll get it there, perhaps even in the next second. Surprise them with flowers appearing in front of their eyes."

He knew the kids were mostly out delivering notes and flowers and other gifts as fleetly as their little feet (all booted because Tommy had put no small amount of the business's funds into getting shoes and warm winter coats for his kids), leaving him alone to manage the stall. He hated being alone. Even his smallest kid, a little girl named Jenica, had gone rushing off with a love note, so all he could do was keep the brazier in the covered stall going and try not to go mad with boredom.

Who knew being a responsible adult could suck so much?

II. Commissioning A Gift | Closed to Jacob
If Tommy had one regular business as a customer that wasn't the lodge, it was Gary's. Wood was always needed. Supplies for sealing carvings mattered too. He absolutely had to do regular deliveries, but it was fine. Fine because Jacob was there, and he called out to the young man who was often there to officially 'receive' deliveries from the cart Tommy was hauling behind himself.

"Hey Jakey-boy," Tommy said with a smirk. "You good today?"

II. Commissioning A Gift

Jacob was familiar with Tommy's deliveries by now and while he didn't like taking breaks during work, he's come to look forward to seeing the speedster. It was more convient to have Tommy deliver the wood that came in and out of the shop than having to do that part of the job himself.

"Same as yesterday." He answered with a grin. "This Cherishment thing is making everyone busy. I hope you're remembering to take a break."

Jacob couldn't help but laugh. "Yeah, me too. Orders have gone up and they all seem to have the same deadline." It'll be easier after the month has ended.

"Oh?" His eyebrow rose. "What is it? Something difficult." If it was Tommy he'd fit in the order and get it done as quickly as possible.

Jacob inclined his head in a nod. "Yeah. I make small carvings in my free time but I can do a commission work. I just need to know what you want, the size and the wood type. Or what you're using it for and then I can pick out the wood." A lot of people didn't know that some woods were too soft for reasonable use.

"Oh. Um..." Jacob went and grabbed a sketchbook as he thought about the two chosen animals. "Is there anything that you'd both like? I could do something small enough to be a necklace, a bracelet might be too bulky. Maybe a buckle or a paperweight if that kind of thing works."

He quickly sketched out a sloth and then a tiger. Both were in a circular-like shape with similarities between the pair that made them look like they were a match. "I can make something like this." He turned around the sketchpad and gave Tommy a good look at it.

Jacob was a very talented artist though he rarely used the skill unless it involved a design of some sort.

"Yeah. I can even attach them to a belt if you'd like." He wasn't great at leatherworking but some of his commissions involved adding leather hand holes or decorations. Gary had been instant that he learned so that he'd be able to retire one day. Apparently not having a son had placed Jacob in the way as a surrogate.

He was glad that Tommy was excited about his design.

"Great. I'll send you a message when they are done. I don't really have any fancy gift wrap here but I can put them in a box." He really didn't have the materials to make anything that wasn't in some way associated with wood or leather.

"No problem. I'll shoot you a message when its done so you can pick it up." Jacob grabbed his quick sketch and placed it on the work bench so he'd be able to get to work as soon as possible.
