"I'd try to make it but," she shrugged. "It'd be a guessing game." And she really didn't think she'd be able to guess right. Now that she'd spoken about it though she almost wanted to try. It felt weird to realize there were nice things about Piscary she missed. There were always brief moments where she missed the bad things, but ones that weren't drenched in disaster? Those were rare.

The problem with Ivy just taking a compliment at face value came down to the fact that she still wasn't used to a compliment being just a compliment. Her world was one of double meanings and ulterior motives. "Thanks," she said with just a hint of stiff awkwardness.

"Not sure if a pizza expert is really what this place needs. Then again, haven't really found any places that sell it." Which had been kind of disappointing. She let out a laugh and raised an eyebrow. "Why wouldn't I mean it?" Though she kept laughing at his offer. "I have been wanting something more dangerous to sink my teeth into." And him in the kitchen? It definitely seemed on the side of danger.
