Llewellyn winced visibly as she asked him, “Well- no…” He responded a bit awkwardly, gesturing a little at the table. “I wouldn’t say shocking, exactly. Just a small surprise?” It was a curious mental image, given how she usually carried herself. Working in a kitchen was not something he imagined, given what she’d told him about her life prior to arriving here.

So it was an interesting detail about her life to learn about, something quite different compared to everything else. “I see, so you’re uh- actually something of an expert at pizza, then?” He added with a small smile, reaching for a plate. He could go back for pretzels anytime, but trying some of Ivy’s pizza would be absolutely necessary now that he knew.

And Llewellyn offered a wry smile to the comment, getting the feeling there was ‘and not at the tavern’ implied at the end of her greeting. “Yes, I am rather well acquainted with the host. I uh- work for Aerith at the flower shop, and she was quite excited about the idea.” And had clearly put a lot of work into it, so how could he not attend? And… Well, it was at least informal and not as large as a full party would have been. It was a nice way to ease in to socializing outside the tavern or work again, perhaps.

Plus, it really did seem to be doing wonders for bringing people together, what with the influx of new arrivals he’d noticed.
