Lich. It's a word that falls on his ears but connects to no ideas, no memories. It's not something he's ever encountered, but he has seen monsters in control of the dead. This was no different. If it was replicas this 'lich' wanted to throw at them, then he'd play the game as well.

It would connect with its target and jump to the others, hopefully buying Athala time to reach the creature.
